League of Legends: A Beginner’s Guide

Also called LoL, League of Legends was developed by Riot Games and is one of the most popular esports games around.

It is a multiplayer strategy game in which you work in a team of five and battle against another team. League of Legends was first released in 2009, and it saw a rapid growth in users upon its release. Since then, the game has gone from strength to strength, quickly becoming one of the best-known multiplayer strategy games around.

In the game, you get to choose which champion you use and then further customize them to suit your preferences. Based on your champion and skill level, you get a range of unique abilities that help you get an edge over your opponents.

There are three different game modes to enjoy while playing League of Legends, namely Summoner’s Rift, ARAM, and Teamfight Tactics. The only one played in esports is Summoner’s Rift, which is the game mode LoL is best known for. In it, two teams of five compete to destroy the enemy’s nexus.

The variation in champions, as well as the 5v5 game mode, allows for a range of different strategies. Each team can adapt its strategy based on the other team’s champions and their own, ensuring plenty of variation in each game.

Although it takes some time to learn the strategies, champions, and special abilities, League of Legends offers plenty of opportunities for beginners to learn while playing too, which is part of the reason why it’s so popular.
