OG take the Aegis at TI8 after losing three players in May

In May 2018, Fly, s4 and Resolut1on left OG. Under the tournament rules, that roster change sent the team to the European open qualifiers for The International, and they won them.

OG filled the gaps with three players: Topson, a newcomer who had never played a major LAN; Ana, back after a year away; and Ceb, the team’s former coach.

One game from losing

In Vancouver, OG won every upper-bracket series, the last of them 2-1 against PSG.LGD. The two met again in the grand final.

OG took game one, but PSG.LGD answered with games two and three. OG came back late in game four and won the decider for the Aegis, the tournament’s trophy, plus more than $11 million. A year later they became the first team to win The International twice.

Both sides of the final

Valve’s documentary series True Sight followed PSG.LGD and OG through that grand final, in an episode of just over an hour on the official Dota 2 channel.
