About MLBB esports
How we track MLBB
Coverage spans the regional MPL (Mobile Legends Professional League) seasons – Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and MENA are the biggest by viewership – plus the M Series World Championship each year's regional winners qualify for. Match data is provided by PandaScore. Live scores typically update within 30–60 seconds. Brackets and stream URLs refresh continuously through each event.
How to watch MLBB live
Regional MPL seasons stream primarily on YouTube and Facebook Gaming – Facebook Gaming in particular is the default platform for Filipino and Indonesian audiences, often outdrawing Twitch numbers by a wide margin for this specific game. Moonton's own YouTube channel carries the M Series World Championship internationally with English commentary. Blacklist International, ONIC Esports, and RRQ Hoshi are among the sport's biggest-name orgs and worth following if you're new to the scene.
Frequently asked questions about MLBB
What is MPL?
The Mobile Legends Professional League is Moonton's franchised regional circuit – separate MPL splits run in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the MENA region, each with its own franchised teams and seasonal playoffs. The Philippines and Indonesia leagues draw the largest audiences by a wide margin; MLBB is closer to a national sport in both countries than a niche esport.
What is the M Series World Championship?
M Series (M1, M2, M3… numbered sequentially each year) is MLBB's annual world championship, gathering the top finishers from every regional MPL plus wildcard qualifiers. It's the one event where Filipino and Indonesian teams – who otherwise mostly play within their own regions – meet head-to-head, which is exactly why it draws the biggest numbers of the year.
Why is MLBB so much bigger in Southeast Asia than in the West?
Mobile-first internet adoption is the simple answer – large parts of the Philippines and Indonesia went from no home broadband straight to smartphones, so a free, low-spec-friendly mobile MOBA became the default competitive game rather than a PC alternative like LoL or Dota 2. Moonton also invested heavily and early in regional broadcast infrastructure and franchise stability in exactly those markets, which compounded the advantage.
How is MLBB different from League of Legends competitively?
Same core shape – three lanes, jungle, drafts, objectives – but built mobile-first: shorter games (15–20 minutes average versus LoL's 25–35), a simplified item shop, and a battle-spell system instead of summoner spells. The faster pace rewards aggressive early rotations more than LoL's slower macro game.
MLBB terminology
- MPL
- Mobile Legends Professional League – Moonton's franchised regional circuit. Separate MPL splits run per country/region.
- M Series
- The annual MLBB world championship, gathering top finishers from every regional MPL. Numbered sequentially (M1, M2…).
- Jungler / Roamer
- Two of MLBB's five roles – jungler clears neutral camps for gold/experience, roamer (support) wards and sets up ganks. Similar to LoL's jungle/support split.
- Draft phase
- Pre-game hero ban/pick phase, same principle as LoL or Dota – deeper than it looks given MLBB's hero pool is smaller and comps are more rock-paper-scissors as a result.
- Turtle / Lord
- MLBB's two major neutral objectives – the Turtle (early-mid game gold/buff) and Lord (late-game siege buff), roughly analogous to LoL's Rift Herald and Baron.
