RL Throwback: NiKo's long wait for a Major ends with Falcons in Cologne
Falcons swept FURIA 3-0 in the IEM Cologne Major final in June, which gave NiKo his first Major on his 17th attempt.
In June, Nikola “NiKo” Kovač finally won a Major. Team Falcons beat FURIA 3-0 in the IEM Cologne final at the Lanxess Arena.
They got there with 2-1 wins over Vitality in the quarterfinal and Spirit in the semifinal. HLTV counted it as NiKo’s 17th Major.
An old story closed
NiKo and Finn “karrigan” Andersen were both on the FaZe team that lost the ELEAGUE Boston final to Cloud9 in January 2018, almost eight and a half years earlier. Karrigan had joined Falcons only in April, and he told HLTV it was the hardest route he had ever taken to a Major.
