About CS2 esports

Browse CS2 teams, players & tournaments

Real-time CS2 live scores and CS2 live stats from every active match, alongside completed results, tournament standings, upcoming fixtures, and historical CS2 stats from across the global Counter-Strike competitive circuit. We monitor professional CS2 tournaments continuously, ensuring fast and accurate updates from premier events and regional leagues worldwide.

How we track CS2

Coverage spans every BLAST Premier, ESL Pro League, IEM stop, and Valve Major, plus the tier-1 regional leagues. Match data is provided by PandaScore and is cross-referenced against the official tournament broadcasts. Live scores typically update within 30–60 seconds of an in-game event. Brackets, standings, and stream URLs refresh continuously while events run.

How to watch CS2 live

BLAST events stream on twitch.tv/blastpremier with a YouTube simulcast; ESL Pro League and IEM on twitch.tv/eslcs (and twitch.tv/eslcsb when matches run in parallel). Each event also runs German, French, Russian, Polish, and Portuguese broadcasts on partner channels. The English casts at BLAST and ESL are both excellent, so it's mostly a question of which event happens to be running. For player streams, s1mple's twitch.tv/s1mple still pulls the largest individual numbers; Tarik (former CS pro turned content creator) co-streams selected events.

Frequently asked questions about CS2

What format do CS2 Majors use?

Twenty-four teams across three stages: Challengers (Swiss, mostly Bo1), Legends (Swiss, all Bo3), and Champions (Bo3 elimination, Bo5 grand final). Slots come from the Regional Major Rankings (RMR) circuit. The Swiss format is divisive – fans split between liking that 0–3 teams get out fast and missing the more dramatic GSL groups – but it's been the standard since the late-CS:GO years and isn't going away.

How are CS2 teams ranked?

There's no single official ranking. Valve's RMR points decide Major slots, but those reset between Major cycles, so they're more "qualification credits" than a year-round ladder. ESL maintains a points-based world ranking; HLTV publishes a community-driven ranking that's the most-cited reference day-to-day. The HLTV top-30 disagrees with ESL's often enough to be interesting; if you're picking favorites for a tournament, it's worth scanning both.

Where do the best CS2 broadcasts live?

BLAST events on twitch.tv/blastpremier. ESL Pro League and IEM on twitch.tv/eslcs and twitch.tv/eslcsb (the secondary channel for parallel matches). PGL Majors get their own dedicated channel for the run of the event. The English casts at BLAST and ESL are excellent – Anders Blume, Pansy, Machine, HenryG, Launders, Hugo Byron – and most events also broadcast in German, French, Russian, Polish, and Portuguese.

How is CS2 different from CS:GO competitively?

Same map pool foundation (with Anubis, Train, and others rotating in), same round economy, same circuit. The main mechanical changes: Source 2's sub-tick system replaced 64/128-tick servers, smokes interact with bullets and grenades in new ways, and the peeker-advantage feel changed slightly. Pros adapted within a few months but the early CS2 period had real complaints from the community. PandaScore and the rest of the data world treat CS2 results as a direct continuation of CS:GO – same team IDs, continuous history.

What's the difference between Bo1, Bo3, and Bo5?

Bo1 is a single map (~45–60 minutes). Bo3 is the format you actually want when stakes matter – first-to-two maps, ~2.5–3.5 hours. Bo5 is reserved for grand finals (4–5 hours including breaks). If you're new to CS and want to see why people love this game, start with a Bo3 playoff match at a Major rather than dropping into Bo1 group action.

CS2 terminology

Bo1 / Bo3 / Bo5
Best-of-N maps. Bo3 is the standard for serious competition; Bo5 reserved for grand finals.
Map veto
Pre-match phase where teams alternate banning and picking from the active competitive map pool until the series's maps are set.
RMR
Regional Major Rankings – the qualifier circuit that decides Valve Major slots. Points reset each Major cycle.
Sub-tick
CS2's replacement for fixed 64/128-tick servers. Tries to register the exact moment of an action rather than rounding to the nearest tick. Still a topic of complaint at the highest level.
Major
Valve-licensed top-tier tournament with sticker-capsule revenue sharing. The events teams build their year around.
