FURIA save a series point on Nuke and overcome NAVI in Beijing

FURIA came back from a map down, and from one round away from defeat on Nuke, to win 2-1 against Natus Vincere on Tuesday at IEM Beijing. The win puts the Bucharest champions in the Group A upper final and in the playoffs.

Saved on Nuke

NAVI took Ancient in overtime and ran away with the first half of Nuke. Late in the second they led by three rounds, one round from the series.

FURIA, on the CT side by then, won the last three rounds of regulation to force overtime, then took all four rounds of it. Polymarket had them at 54% before the first map and as low as about 8% during Nuke, a price that was back above 50% within a quarter of an hour.

NAVI won the first four rounds of Cache. FURIA answered with the rest of the half, and when NAVI pulled ahead again in the second, FURIA won the last four rounds to close it out.

A reply to Bucharest

The last meeting went the other way. NAVI won 2-0 in the PGL Masters Bucharest group stage on Oct 25, and FURIA recovered from that loss to win the whole event against Nemiga in the final.

NAVI, who opened Beijing with a 2-0 over Falcons, drop to the lower bracket, where one more loss ends their event.

FURIA play TheMongolz in the upper final, and the winner goes straight to the playoff semifinals.
