jstn's zero-second goal could not stop Dignitas in the RLCS Season 5 final

In June 2018, the Rocket League world final in London went to a seventh game. NRG reached it undefeated from the upper bracket, so Dignitas, from the lower bracket, had to win two series.

Dignitas reset the bracket 4-1, then led the second series 3-1. NRG answered with games five and six.

After the clock ran out

Dignitas led game seven by one goal in the final moments. Then NRG’s rookie jstn scored with the clock already at zero, and his zero-second goal forced overtime.

Turbopolsa’s overtime winner gave him, ViolentPanda and Kaydop their second straight world title together, after Season 4 as Gale Force eSports. jstn’s goal was later nominated for Fan Favorite Esports Moment at the Gamers’ Choice Awards.

A year and a half later

After Season 7, NRG signed Turbopolsa, the first RLCS player to move from Europe to North America. In December 2019, jstn scored in overtime to win NRG the Season 8 world final 4-3 against Renault Vitality.
