Virtus.pro make KINGZERO the third CN League team to lose in the Osaka play-in
Virtus.pro won the last upper-bracket quarterfinal of the Osaka Major on Lair and left KINGZERO without a round on attack.
TYLOO and All Gamers had already lost their Phase 1 openers at the BLAST R6 Major Osaka on Friday, Nov 6, and KINGZERO made it three CN League seeds out of three in the play-in when they lost to Virtus.pro.
Out of Europe and China
Virtus.pro were the Europe MENA League’s fourth seed. In the league playoffs they won one of their three series, 2-0 against Twisted Minds on Oct 6, and at the Esports World Cup in August they lost 1-2 to FaZe Clan and 1-2 to Weibo Gaming in Group B.
KINGZERO, seeded fourth from the CN League, won 2-0 against LGD Gaming and One Coin in their league playoffs in October. In the same playoffs they lost 0-2 to All Gamers and then 1-2 to TYLOO, the two other CN League teams in this Phase 1 bracket.
One round for KINGZERO
Virtus.pro spent two of their four bans on Bank and Clubhouse, the maps of the three earlier quarterfinals. KINGZERO’s four bans and Virtus.pro’s other two left Lair.
KINGZERO started on defense and won one round of the first half. In the second half they attacked twice, and Virtus.pro held both rounds to end the map.
What’s next for Virtus.pro
Virtus.pro play Weibo Gaming next, with a Swiss stage place for whoever wins the best-of-three.
